CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services

Overview

The CHC32015 Certificate III in Community Services can provide you with the basic skills and knowledge required to gain employment as a community services worker that provides a first point of contact and assists individuals in meeting their immediate needs, under direct supervision.

Your training will have a broad-based focus, with an accent on: 

  • Responding to clients needs

  • Workplace health and safety knowledge

  • Mandatory reporting

  • Supporting people with mental health barriers

  • How to increase the safety of individuals at risk of suicide

  • Working with diverse communities

​

Graduates of this nationally accredited Certificate III can move into roles where they provide a first point of contact and/or directly assist individuals in meeting their immediate needs. 
At this level, people typically work under the direction of others, with both direct and indirect supervision.

Standard Duration: 2 years (typically 78 weeks)

Delivery Mode

Academy Training & Assessment delivers this qualification face to face with qualified trainers who have worked in the health and community services sector.

Academy Training & Assessment can also offer this course through an auspice arrangement with secondary schools and colleges. 

​

Teachers deliver this accredited course to secondary school students as part of their VET studies with Academy Training & Assessment responsible for enrolment, registration and certification.

Assessment

Assessment may consist of:

  • Knowledge questions for student to answer 

  • Role plays and practical activities

  • Holistic assessment

Evidence may be:

  • Written (using student workbooks or an LMS portal)

  • Audio/video recordings

  • Direct observation

  • Interview

  • Documents/work instructions

Entry Requirements

There are no prerequisites for this course.

​

All students will engage in a language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy (LLND) activity to evaluate potential support requirements. This will be emailed to each student and must be completed online prior to receiving the online Enrolment Form link.

Units

The Certificate III in Community Services consists of 12 units:

  • 5 core units

  • 7 electives

​

Elective units will vary depending on consultation with industry and the topics students will wish to study.

Fees and Subsidies

This qualification is offered to secondary schools on a fee for service basis via an auspice arrangement.

​

There are two fees:

1. Student enrolment, registration and certification
2. VET Materials (the learning and assessment resources, per unit)
